Dr. Kim majored in psychobiology during his undergraduate studies at UCLA. Before entering UCLA Dental School in 1991, he served as a course instructor at Stanley H. Kaplan Education Centers at three of their teaching institutions (Encino, Brentwood, and Los Angeles) for the Dental Aptitude Exam (DAT). Dr. Kim received his dental degree from UCLA in 1995. Because most of his clinic requirements were completed a year early, Dr. Kim furthered his training by getting accepted into special mini residencies in Cosmetic Dentistry (CED) and Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) during his last year. After graduation, he helped cover the Center for Esthetic Dentistry clinic floor to 3rd and 4th year dental students. In 1995, he became associated with Pasadena Dental Care and later went on to partner with Dr. David Wyndhamsmith in Valencia, CA. In 1996, they established "WYNDHAMSMITH & KIM." Since then, they have opened several other offices throughout Southern California. Their dental practices have been featured on several major television channels and newspapers (ABC news, NBC news, KUSA news, Star-News, The Signal, and The Tribune) for "Sleep Dentistry" to children, phobics, and medically compromised patients. Dr. Kim's specialty is in cosmetics, as well as, complex full mouth reconstruction and rehabilitation. In 2008, he became one of the acting board directors at Koryo Health Foundation and is currently a member of CDA (California Dental Association) and ADA (American Dental Association). Recently, Dr. Kim was awarded and recognized as "America's Top Dentists" by the Consumers' Research Council of America.
